Long wax refers to beeswax. A wax is a substance that is malleable at room temperature, having a melting point above 45°C, a low viscosity when melted and being insoluble in water. There are natural waxes and artificial waxes.
In plants, certain plants produce a wax on their leaves, such as the Brazilian carnauba palm. Jojoba and particularly the oil extracted from the seeds is favored for the production of vegetable wax. Soybean oil can also be used to make vegetable wax.
